LEWISTON — Louise Anne M. Bussiere, 83, of 75 South Lisbon Road, died Monday, Feb. 25, at her residence, following a short illness.
Born in Saint Pascal de Kamouraska, Canada, Dec. 12, 1918, the daughter of Thomas and Amanda (Charest) Charest, she had been a resident of this community most of her life. Mrs. Bussiere attended Marston School in Auburn, St. Peter's School in Lewiston, Oxford School in Augusta and Chelline School in Gardiner.
She was married to Ovila Raymond Bussiere on Sept. 2, 1940. They were married for 41 years until he died on Sept. 6, 1981.
Mrs. Bussiere was employed at a local shoe shop prior to her marriage and became a home-maker after her marriage. She had 17 brothers and sisters. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and needlepoint. She also enjoyed traveling with the Holy Cross Senior Citizen Group.
She belonged to Holy Cross Parish and was a member of the Ladies of Ste. Anne and the Holy Cross Senior Citizens.
Survivors include four sons, Raymond and his wife, Doris, and Normand all of Lewiston, Richard and his wife, Marion, and Donald and his wife, Pauline all of Lisbon; four daughters, Diane Bussiere of Lewiston, Louise Buttler and her husband, Dale of Salinas, Calif., Anita Hodson and her husband, James of Livermore and Marie Wright of Germantown, Md.; 14 grandchildren, Brigite, Celine, Raymond Jr., Robert, Jennifer, Jessica, Daniel, Anne Marie, Joseph, Charles, Robin, Jared, Joshua and Angela; seven great-grandchildren, John, Jessica, Jacqueline, Stephanie, Ryan, Jacob and Vanessa; and one great-great-grandchild, Emmanual.
She was predeceased by her husband; four brothers, Leo, Lucien, Jean and Adrien Charest; two sisters, Jeanne Filion and Lucienne Charest; and her grandson, Raymond Bussiere Jr.
