      INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC TAKES 3 MARTELLS
      Joseph Martell and sister, Mrs. Hector Arel and Uncle, Chas. Martell all Die Within Week
      The influenza epidemic caused two of three deaths of members of the Martell family of Gentilly last week. Charles Martell for over 44 years a resident of the Red River valley, died Friday evening at Crookston from a complication of diseases. He was 65 years old and had been ill for the past year. He was born in Wisconsin and lived many years in Gentilly, removing to Grand Forks within the past year. His two sons, John and Charles, live at Crookston.
      Mr. Martell's nephew, Joseph Martell, brother of Thos. Martell of this city, died Tuesday of last week of Influenza. He was 33 years old. He was married thirteen months ago to Miss Louise Emard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Emard of Gervais. They have a son two months old. Mr. Martell is survived also by his brothers Thos. of this city, Henry and Ambrose of Gentilly, and by three sisters, Mrs. Edmond Boucher of Crookston, and Florence and Theresa who live on the Martell homestead. Burial was held Wednesday at Gentilly, the Rev. Fr. Theillon officiating.
      Mrs. Hector Arel, sister of Joseph Martell, died of influenza at Gentilly Friday. She is survived by a husband and four children. Funeral services were held Saturday at Gentilly, the Rev. Fr. Theillon officiating.
