obituary - Lowell Sun (MA) - 3 Jul 2014
Susan Jacqueline (Gelineau) Landry, 67, a longtime resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, following a lengthy illness.
She was the beloved wife of Gerard A. Landry, with whom she celebrated 51 years of marriage this past March 16, 2014.
She was born in Chelsea, MA, on January 25, 1947, a daughter of the late Roland and Juliette (Ducharme) Gelineau. She received her education in the Lowell schools.
Susan retired from Community Teamwork, Inc. of Lowell at the onset of her illness, after serving them for seven years. In her retirement, she enjoyed attending Home Away From Home, where she had many friends whom she enjoyed spending time with. Susan also enjoyed baking, reading, crafts, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Gerard, she is survived by her six children, Robert Landry and his companion, Susan Ryan, Gerard Landry, Jr., Tammy Buckley and her husband, James, Darlene Parker and her husband, Douglas, Michael Landry and his wife, Kellianne, and Lisa Landry; and a daughter-in-law, Theresa Landry.
Susan was the oldest of six siblings; surviving her are Doris E. Gelineau, Donna M. Fecteau, Patricia A. Gilbert, Gale A. Gelineau and Leo H. Gelineau. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren: Jennifer Buckley, Kerry Parker, Linda Landry, Marque Buckley, Stephanie Parker, Ryan Landry, Mathew Landry, Christopher Landry, Brandon Landry and his wife, Aubrey, Adam Landry, and Derrin Landry; her four great-grandchildren, Koree Benning, Casey Benning, Brian Landry, and Bella-Rose; and her Goddaughter, Leighann Gelineau. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was also the beloved Aunt to the late Mark and Brian Delong and was also a cherished sister-in-law to the late Michael Gilbert and Tom Delong.
Susan's family would like to specially thank Dr. Sarwar, Erinn Stubbs and the team of doctors and nurses at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA for their ongoing care and support to her throughout her illness.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Susan's memorial services to be celebrated on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 2 P.M. at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 321 Derry Rd., Hudson, NH. In honor of Susan's favorite color, the family will be wearing an article of yellow to the services and invite others to do the same. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Susan's memory be made to Home Away From Home c/o Karen Garriean, 150 Industrial Ave. East, Lowell, MA 01852.
