Sergeant Lionel Fecteau, US Army, the son of Mrs. Cora Fecteau, 13 Oxford Street, is now stationed "somewhere in France."
Entering the service 1 Sep 1943 he received his basic training at Fort Bragg, NC, and was stationed at Fort Knox, KY, before going overseas in April 1944.
His wife, Mrs. Anita Fecteau, and four-month-old son, whom he has never seen, make their home with Mrs. Fecteau's parents in St. David, Maine.
Being graduated from St. Augustin's Parochial School, Sgt. Fecteau was employed at the Edwards Mfg. Company before entering the service.

AUGUSTA - Lionel J. Fecteau, 90, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Veterans Administration Medical and Regional Office Center at Togus following a long illness. He was born in Winslow on June 15, 1921, a son of the late Phillippe and Cora (Cloutier) Fecteau.
Mr. Fecteau attended Augusta schools and had been employed by Statler Tissue for 35 years. He had also worked for Hudson Pulp and Paper, Shaw's Supermarket and the cafeteria at St. Augustine School.
He was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church and was a member of Le Club Calumet, Cushnoc Senior Citizens and St. Paul Cursillistas.
Mr. Fecteau was predeceased by two brothers, Phillippe and Paul Fecteau; and a sister, Juliette Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Anita (Gendreau) Fecteau, of Augusta; two sons, Raymond Fecteau and his wife, Constance, of Augusta, and David Fecteau and his wife, Susan, of Fairfield; three daughters: Jeannine Gotreau and her husband, Ronald, of Augusta, Deanna Colwell and her husband, Harley, of Windsor, and Julie Armstrong and her husband, Wilbur Armstrong Jr., of East Winthrop; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Pathak and the nurses in the dialysis department at the Veterans Administration at Togus for the wonderful care and compassion they showed to Lionel and the Fecteau family.
Relatives and friends may visit Wednesday, July 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, where officers and members of the Calumet Club are asked to meet at 6 p.m. to recite prayers for their departed member. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial will follow in the new Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Lionel's memory be made to Chrisanne Burns Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Michael School, 56 Sewall St., Augusta, ME 04330.
