  Notes	According to the 1920 census, Donald, age 5, He is listed [sh 17B] as an adopted-son in Grand Forks, but it is difficult to say who the parent(s) are. However, there is a clue - the street number has "1426". A search of all 34 pages in ward 6 has only one family listed with "1426" as the street address: Chris Hanson, age 58, and his wife Anna, age 52, both born in Norway, living at 1426 Strong Street in Grand Forks. Two sons were listed: Gilbert 21 and Edward 18. [sh 15A] According to the 1930 census, Donald, age 15, and his brother Clifford, age 13, were living in the Children's Home in Lake Park. The census record says that they were born in North Dakota and that their parents were born in Norway! According to the 1940 census, Donald Filteau, age 25, was a hotel guest in Burns, Harney, Oregon. He was living in Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1935. Don and his brother Clifford were raised in a Lutheran Church Orphanage in Lake Park, MN. newspaper article - Oregonian (Portland, OR) - p 32, 9 Nov 1972 Harney County - ... Voters retained Don Filteau as their county clerk. He died of a heart attack.

Both young people are well known In this vicinity, the bride was a resident of Neche for several years ajid the groom was connected with the International Harvester company of this city.
