Lucy S. Wisher Hill MCMillan MECHANICVILLE - Lucy S.(Whisher) Hill McMillan, 94, entered into her eternal rest, Sunday, January 6th, at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy. She was born September 24, 1918, in AuSable Forks, NY the daughter of John and Sufrina (Soulier) Whisher. She was the widow of Thomas M. Hill Sr. who passed away in 1958 and Henry ""Scotty"" McMillan who passed away in 2003.Lucy was raised and attended school in AuSable Forks and worked at J. J. Rogers Paper Mill in AuSable. Lucy graduated from Albany Business College in 1939. She went to work at Montgomery Ward & Co. in Menands, and then at the Veteran's Administration in Albany.
Mrs. McMillan was a devout member of the All Saints on the Hudson South (formerly St. Paul's). She was an active member of the Mechanicville Area Seniors and was proud to have participated in their Senior Aerobics program well into her 80s.She loved her family and friends, enjoyed life and was a friendly, caring, sharing person who lived by the motto "tomorrow will be a better day". Lucy enjoyed garage sales, reading the tabloids, taking casino trips, tending to her flower garden and was hard to beat in a Pollyanna game.
Lucy is survived by her loving children Gretchen (the late George) Koper, Mechanicville, Thomas M. Hill Jr. Troy, and Diane M. Antolick, Ballston Lake. She was predeceased by her son, John M. Hill, in 1997. Lucy leaves a legacy including 8 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren and she was proud to become a great-great-great grandmother in 2012. Lucy was the last to survive her brothers, Harold, Russell and Hank, and sister, Agnes.A celebration of Lucy's life will be held on Wednesday, January 9th, at noon at the All Saints on the Hudson South (formerly St. Paul's) Main Street, Mechanicville.Relatives and friends may pay their respects to the family at the T. L. Cassidy Funeral Home, 126 N. Second Avenue, Mechanicville, on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Entombment will be in the Assumption-St. Paul Cemetery Mausoleum.The family has respectfully requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the charity of one's choice in Lucy's memory
