PLATTSBURGH — Mr. Rudolph R. "Rudy" Mesec, 89, of George Street in Plattsburgh, died Friday, May 31, 2013, at his home with family by his side and under the care of Hospice of the North Country.
He was born in Mooers Forks on Feb. 26, 1924, the son of the late Henry and Rosina (Longtin) Meseck.
Rudy was employed by D & H Railroad and then at Imperial Paper Mill for 13 years and also owned and operated Rudolph Mesec Garage on George Street for many years. He was a member of the Unique Car Club and enjoyed going to car shows. He was involved with local racing as an owner and driver for many years. He was a member of St. Peter's Church.
He is survived by five sons, Roger R. Mesec and his wife Debbie of Plattsburgh, Gary Mesick and his wife Dale of Georgia, Allen Mesick and his wife Linda of Plattsburgh, Kenneth Meseck of Plattsburgh, Lindsay Mesec and his wife Jeanne of Plattsburgh; two daughters, Karen Mesick and her husband Frank Rock of Keeseville, Lana Mesick and her husband Rick Smart; his sister, Vatilda Rettinger of Plattsburgh; three sisters-in-law, Marie Meseck of Plattsburgh, Anna Meseck of Mooers Forks. Bernadette Clukey of Plattsburgh; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; godchildren; nieces and nephews and his dog, "Pierre".
Rudy was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Geraldine (Desmaris) Mesec in 2008; his parents; his brothers, James, Stanley, Napolean, Noah, Frederick; and his sisters, Rose Burdo, Lezina Anamont, Lena Tremblay.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 3, at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, at St. Peter's Church. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
