Notes |
According to the 1930 census, William Centro, age 24, and his wife Mrytel (sic), age 30, were living in Rome, Oneida, New York at 120 Oneida Street along with the family of his parents: Jerry, age 50, and Rose, age 52. William and Myrtle had been married 5 years; two children were listed: William Jr 4 yr 3 mo and Denise 2 yr 7 mo
William and Myrtle must have had another son, Gerald W Centro [or is this the same as William Jr, above?], shortly after the 1930 census was taken. The burial records of Gerald W Centro (supposedly born on 20 Nov 1930, d. 7 Sep 1985, m. Mary Jane/Joan Murabito) name his parents as William Centro and [incorrectly?] Anice Nashton. The problem is that Gerald W is not named in the 1940 census with his father (m. Anice) nor with his mother (m. Theodore Larson)!
According to the 1940 census, William Centro, age 34, and his wife Anice, age 26, were renting ($18) at 215 W Dominick Street in Rome, Oneida, New York. One child was listed: Robert 7.
Also listed was his brother Frank, age 25.
Because both William Jr and Denise were living with their mother Myrtle (m. Theodore Nelson) in Wisconsin in 1940, it is most probable that Robert is the son of Anice and not of Myrtle.
