      news article: Record-Post - Au Sable Forks (NY) - 28 Nov 1940
Rand Facto, formerly of this village but now in the employ of the Saranac Inn Co., Inc., was united in marriage to Miss Mary Stevenson of Ogdensburg Monday morning, January 9th, the ceremony taking place in Ogdensburg, being performed by Father Brown following a nuptial high mass. Miss Elizabeth Stevenson, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid and Homer Facto, the groom's brother, was best man. Following a wedding breakfast at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Stevenson, the bride's parents, the happy couple left on a honeymoon trip to Montreal, returning the Saturday following to the home of - the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Facto of Au Sable Forks, where supper was served to the newly weds and a host of friends, following which dancing was enjoyed. Those from out of town present were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Nye of Whallonsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hurley, Mr. and Mrs. James Dawson, Thomas Ford, Archie Keese and Charles Tyo, all of Saranac Inn.

      news article: Record-Post - Au Sable Forks (NY) - 28 Nov 1940
Fire of undetermined origin destroyed the bungalow of Rand Facto just outside of Au Sable Forks on the Black Brook road about 10 p. m. Thanksgiving evening. Au Sable Forks firemen answered an alarm sent in by neighbors but when they arrived the whole interior of the house was a mass of flames. They got two lines of water on the blaze, however, and extinguished the fire after everything had been destroyed except the cellar.
The Facto family were away from home when the fire started and could give no clue as to what caused it. Mr. Facto said he had had two chimney
fires within the last couple of years but that he knew this was not the cause of the last fire because he had the chimney rebuilt. The house was a new one within the past few years.
The fire apparently started on the main floor, possibly from defective wiring. It swept through the interior and gained great headway before it was noticed from the outside. Everything including the furnishings was burned with an extimated loss of over $3,000. This was partly covered by insurance.
Mr. Facto intends to begin rebuilding immediately. He has already begun to clear away the charred debris and has found he can begin rebuilding on the old sills and main floor which are sound. Because firemen put out the blaze as quickly as the did the fire did nog get to the cellar and the furnace is still in working order.
