The funeral for Ronald G. Shumway, 63, of 1 Main St., will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at United Community Church, Tupper Lake, with the Rev. William Bostrom, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Gale Cemetery, Childwold.
Mr. Shumway died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday at his home.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Rennell Funeral Home, Tupper Lake. Contributions may be made to High Peaks Hospice or the Tupper Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad.
Surviving are two step-sons, Martin Snye, Morristown, and Thomas Snye, Tupper Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Beverly) Markwell, Merrick, N.H., and Mrs. Lanny (Penny) Robert, Glens Falls; five grandchildren; two brothers, Donald, Piercefield, and Arthur "Bud", Whitney Park, and four sisters, Mrs. Walter (Hilda) Currier, Clifton Park, Mrs. Fred (Margurette) Bartholomew, Childwold, Isabell LaVair, Piercefield, and Beulah Facteau, Tupper Lake.
Born in Piercefield on Nov. 23, 1926, a son of Stewart and Mary Fransciscoe Shumway, he attended Tupper Lake schools. He married Gwendolyn R. North on March 26, 1967. She died Sept. 7, 1990.
Mr. Shumway served with the Army during the Korean conflict and was later employed with the Town of Piercefield Highway Department.
