       Roger A. Filteau, 86, of Saco, died on March 5, 2017, after a lengthy illness at Seal Rock Healthcare.Roger was born on Sept. 24, 1931, in Goffstown, NH, the son of Alcide and Anna (Bourque) Filteau. He was raised, and lived, in Goffstown (Pinardville) NH all his life. Upon retirement he wintered in Naples Fla., a place he thoroughly loved and enjoyed. In later years he moved to Saco, into a cottage at Atlantic Heights. He was very happy there and extremely proud of his home and made many new wonderful friendships.Roger attended Manchester schools. He owned and operated his own business, Filteau Painting and Wallpapering for over 30 years. In his profession Roger was meticulous in detail and tireless in his quest to please all of his customers.Roger was a member of the Pinardville volunteer fire department for 38 years where he rose to the rank of Captain. He was in the Naval reserve for 10 years and a member of the League of a Thousand Men at The Precious Blood Monastery, a past member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Retired Fire Association, and AARP.He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Nancy Bray (Dwyer) Filteau of Saco; two sons, Roger D. Filteau and his wife Tina of Goffstown, NH, Robert A. Filteau and his wife Donna of Webster, NH and a daughter, Debra Tessier and her husband Marc of Weare, NH, three stepsons John C. Dwyer and his wife Donna, of South Portland, Jeffrey B. Dwyer of Seattle, Wash., and Thomas F. Dwyer of Manchester NH; his loving sister Mrs. Anita Fraser of Manchester, NH; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters, Miss Rita Filteau, Mrs. Theresa Goubout, and Mrs. Marcelle DeGrandmaison, and five brothers, Amie, Albert, Arthur, Roland, and Emile. Arrangements are in care of Phaneuf Funeral Home, Manchester, NH. There will be no calling hours; according to his wishes. Interment at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, Manchester, NH.
