Linda Ellen Facteau, 64, of the Ore Bed Road, Schuyler Falls, passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, April 9, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Plattsburgh, Aug. 5, 1952, the daughter of the late James D. and Gertrude E. (Vaughan) Wells. She grew up in Peru and graduated Peru Central High School in 1970. Linda created and devoted her life to mother nature as a career, spending 25 years at Rulf's Orchard in Peru, N.Y. There she flourished and became an iconic master gardener. With her expert knowledge, creativity and passion, Linda was able to contribute greatly to growing the small roadside stand into a seasonal destination for the surrounding communities. As a country girl at heart Linda enjoyed traveling the back roads with Bill, the love of her life. She could be found riding with him on their Harley to their favorite destination, the rocky shores of Lake Ontario. Linda also traveled to wherever her children were. Whether it be overseas, across the country or right in her home town.
Left to cherish the memory of Linda are, her life partner, Billy Joe Howerton. Her three children, Corey and Jacquelyn Facteau, Sara and Travis Dunham and Brooke Facteau. Grandchildren include Lia Clemons and Zoie Facteau. Siblings to Linda are, Michael Wells and Carol Smith along with multiple nieces and nephews. Longtime friends Travis and Michelle Howerton.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Noah James Clemons.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12th, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru.
In lieu of donations, Linda's asks to plant a tree or flowers in her memory.
