obituary - Press-Republican (Plattsburgh, NY) - 25 Nov 1989
PLATTSBURGH - Thomas H. Ruble, 65, of 1 Harlem Ave., died Thursday, Nov. 23, 1989, at CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Gary, Ind., Sept. 25, 19£4, the son of Ernest and Janet (Hoover) Ruble.
Mr. Ruble was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and an Air Force veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring as a staff sergeant in 1964. He then became a civilian employee as a driver at the Plattsburgh Air Force Base Motorpod, retiring in 1979.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 and American Legion Post 20 in Plattsburgh. He was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, Plattsburgh Senior Citizens and was a volunteer bus driver for senior citizens, BOCES and Clinton Community College.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie P. (Gadway) Ruble of Plattsburgh; two stepsons, Robert Miller and Joseph Lee, both of Plattsburgh; a stepdaughter, Pearl Infante of Plattsburgh; a sister, Janet Ruble of Gary, Ind.; 11 step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. VFW and American Legion ritualistic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in St, Peter's Cemetery.
