      According to the 1861 census, Jean Fortin, age 33, and his wife Louise Cote, age 23, were living in [St-Georges] Beauce, Canada East. Three children were listed: Louise 10, Marie 7, and Philomene 2.

      According to the 1871 census, Jean Fortin, age 47, and his wife Louise Cote, age 34, were living in S. Georges, Beauce East, QC. Five children were listed: Louise 20, Marie 18, Philome 12, Celina 10, and Jeanne 2 months (Feb 1871).
