She was first married at age 18. obituary - Portland Telegram and Press Herald (Maine) - Sun 14 Mar 1948 Augusta, March 13 - Mrs. Maria F Godbout, 49, wife of Edward Godbout, 131 Northern Avenue, died Friday noon at St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston where she had been a patient for the past three weeks. She had been in ill health for the past several years. For some time Mrs. Godbout was engaged as an investigator for the Augusta Poor Department. Mrs. Godbout was born in East Broughton, PQ and about 32 years ago came to Augusta where she had since resided. Besides her husband, Mrs. Godbout is survived by two dau., Mrs. Romeo Toulouse and Mrs. Roland Picard and one son, Clement Godbout, all of this city; also a grandson, Ronald Godbout. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Boulette of Waltham, Mass., Mrs. Arsene Martel of Montreal, PQ, and Mrs. Earl Lougee of Augusta and two brothers, Norbert Fecteau of Black Lake PQ and Hermenigild Fecteau of Augusta. Mrs. Godbout was a communicant of St. Augustine's Catholic church, a member of the Dames of St. Anne of St. Augustine's parish and a member and past president of the Union of St John the Baptist. The funeral services will be held at St. Augustione's church, Monday morning at 8 o'clock.
