Palm Bay, FL — Mervin L. Crabb, 81, formerly of Derry, N.H., departed this life on Friday, May 10, 2013, in Palm Bay, Fla. Born on August 29, 1931, in Derry, Mervin was the child of the late Harland and Gladys Worster-Crabb. In 1953, he became a dedicated firefighter for the Derry Fire Department and was the first to achieve the rank of Deputy Fire Chief in the Town of Derry. He was also a proud member of the New Hampshire Fire Chief Association. Following retirement in 1986, he spent most of his golden years fishing, camping and traveling. Mervin and the love of his life, Patricia, relocated to Palm Bay, Fla., in 1993 where they enjoyed making new friends.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia; daughters, Meryl Crabb-Thomas and Leslie (Jack) Arling; son, Robert (Tami); brother, Bruce; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: The family will celebrate his life privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Mervin to the American Heart Association.
