Norman Carroll Greene, 70, of the 2200 block of Holland Road, passed away Feb. 4, 2004.
A native of Sunbury, N.C., he was the son of the late Tom and Vera Jordan Greene. He was predeceased by two brothers, William and Robert Greene. Mr. Greene retired from Lipton Tea Co. and was the owner of Greenes Strawberry Farm in Suffolk. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church and Bethlehem Ruritan Club and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Morris Greene; a daughter, Karen G. Fecteau and husband Ronald of Suffolk; two sons, Michael C. Greene and wife Rose of Youngsville, N.C., and Mark A. Greene and wife Janis of Suffolk; sisters, Gladys G. Dotson of Chesapeake, Joyce G. Modlin and husband Jesse of Sunbury and Lois G. Jordan of Corapeake, N.C.; his brothers, Dan J. Greene and wife Shelby of Sunbury, Jack Greene and wife Lynn of Suffolk and Curtis Wilkins and wife Nancy of Gatesville, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Jeanine M. Greene of Suffolk; his beloved grandchildren, Eva Greene, Laura G. Shepherd and husband Phillip, Russ and Kelsey Greene, Emily Hopper and Tom Hopper and wife Meighan; and a great-grandson, Kai Ley.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Bethlehem Christian Church by the Rev. Jonathan Palmer. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the church, 1549 Holland Road, Suffolk, VA 23434 or the American Cancer Society. Harrell and Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
